Next Generation Quantum Computing

The Symposium “Next Generation Quantum Computing” marks the beginning of new international cooperation in the field of quantum computing between Germany and Japan. The event aims to provide an open forum and bring together scientists from the international quantum community to nurture an exchange about the next generation of quantum technology and the challenges yet to be accomplished. Initiators of the Symposium are the Keio University’s Ishikuro Laboratory and the TU Braunschweig’s Institute for CMOS Design. Being part of the established cooperation Tokyo University and NBS Semiconductor, support the organisers. Moreover, the DWIH Tokyo acts as a co-organiser and enables this event.

The beginning of new international cooperation in the field of quantum computing

The cooperation participants conduct cutting-edge research, developing hard- and software to realise highly scalable quantum computers. Presentations held during the symposium range thematically from high-frequency electronics for qubit control for superconductive and ion-trap-based quantum computers to newly developed toolchains allowing high-level programming of quantum algorithms. Invited keynote speakers from academia and the private sector will contribute to the event’s success through their various backgrounds and methodologies. The symposium “Next Generation Quantum Computing” features seven on-site sessions with presenters from the research cooperation and invited speakers at the Hiyoshi Campus of the Keio University. Symposium attendees can deep dive into the field of quantum computing and discuss presented topics between the sessions. This symposium is an open get-together of highly qualified quantum computer research experts who aim to present and exchange their current research efforts.
