- Abstract
Ion traps are a promising platform for the realization of high-fidelity quantum information processors. Integrated photonic components are important for scaling ion trap systems to large numbers of qubits. Polarization control is essential for state preparation, electron-shelving and quantum logic operations. Here, we present our work on ion traps with integrated grating couplers combined with metasurfaces as a two-layer system for the conversion of linear polarization to circular polarization.
