On 30 October, QuantumFrontiers and cluster4future QVLS iLabs jointly organised the first Quantum Job Afternoon in Hanover. The aim was to give students and young scientists at different career levels an insight into job prospects in the field of quantum technology.
Around 65 participants, from Bachelor students to postdocs, took the opportunity at Leibniz University's Königlicher Pferdestall to find out what you can actually do with ‘quantum’ and which companies in the region are active in the sector.
After a brief introduction by the Graduate Academy to scientific and non-academic career paths, various companies and start-ups presented what a future in the quantum working world could look like with them and what skills they are looking for, as well as what vacancies they currently have.
The event not only provided participants with valuable insights into possible career paths, but also offered plenty of space for networking and opportunities to make new contacts - both with the companies and with each other.
The positive feedback encourages us to ensure that the first Quantum Job Afternoon will not be the last.
